self hosted wordpress site – does this even make sense as a phrase or am i overthinking it?

basically i mean the classic setup: buy my own domain, get regular hosting, install WordPress myself (not wordpress.com, the .org style thing) and run everything there. full control over plugins, themes, backups, etc. that’s what i’m trying to say with “self hosted wordpress site”.

i’m just wondering if people on here would immediately get what i mean, or if i should phrase it differently like “WordPress on my own hosting account” or “WordPress installed on my own server”. to me “self-hosted WordPress” sounds normal because i keep seeing it in docs and blog posts, but i’m not sure how it lands with non-devs.

the idea is: i don’t want some locked platform where they decide what plugins i can use or what content is allowed. i’d rather deal with updates, security and all that stuff and have more control. i know that also means more responsibility if something breaks, but i’m fine with that (famous last words, i know).

so yeah, does “self hosted wordpress site” sound clear enough to you guys, or would you word it differently?
